I STILL DONT AGREE WITH C.C. Sabathia WINING THE CY YOUNG IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN BECKET

WHO YOU SHOULD HAVE EALLY WON THE 2007 CY YOUNGC.C. Sabathia OR BECKET?
Sabathia had the better regular season and deserved the award. With the exception of wins, which are a very arbitrary statistic, Beckett did not have better numbers.





I'm sure Beckett isn't feeling too bad not winning, given that he has a World Series ring. Most pitchers would gladly give up an individual award to win the ultimate prize.
Reply:It's close. Sabathia should have won. He has one less win than Beckett, but had 40 more innings pitched and more strike outs. More innings pitched = more dependable.
Reply:If the Cy Young voting happened after the season then it would have been Beckett - hands down.





As it is I think CC deserved the award, but a good case could be made for either pitcher.
Reply:Beckett. Mostly because he helped the team do so good that year winning the World Series.
Reply:I think that C.C. Sabathia definitely deserved the award. I cant really argue with him winning it so much. But if I had to choose, I think that Beckett was more deserving of the Cy Young.
Reply:Being a Sox fan I have to say Beckett. Both had pretty good years. Josh had the extra win, CC with more strikeouts. Still a ring is better than a Cy Young

Reply:I think Beckett should of won the Cy Young, but once again, C.C Sabathia did deserve it. He helped bring the Indians too the Playoffs, but if the cy young choosing would of extended all the way too the end of the season, then Beckett would of won

Reply:C.C. was had strong numbers and as pointed out more I.P. Beckett had a great year and was a huge guy for the sox, but C.C. got there with less offense and a shakey closer. He meant more to his team. I know people will argue that but the Sox would still kill without Beckett, the Indians would be in third without C.C. You could toss a coin and to choose and I wouldn't argue against either guy, I just think C.C. had better buzz when the voting went down.
Reply:i think beckett deserved it considering he was the only 20-game winner, but sabathia definitely deserved votes, but i think lackey should be in the argument too since he won 19 games and had a 3.01 ERA.
