According to the radio the M c C anns are going to be prosecuted by the portugese police for leaving their children alone.
i think this is the right decion as those babies should never of been left alone and they did not even have the backbone to say they were wrong
do you think this is the right decision ?
Breaking news the M,c canns?
absa FuC**** lutely
if they were where they should have been the crime wouldn't have happened would it
Reply:it was meant to be like this
Reply:Im not into this whole McCann thing but I think it is unfair for them to do this, especially when you think why now?? If they have laws in Portugal against people leaving kids alone why did they not prosecute sooner. Sounds all a bit fishy to me. Seems like they are just looking for some kind of prosecution in order to cover up there own inadequacies and mistakes with regards to finding Madeline.
Reply:Yes but I think it should have been done sooner. I am going to repeat a story here. A couple of months ago 2 moms in Pittsburgh left their 7 children ages 2-8 home alone and they died in a fire. The moms were arrested. Should they have been? Most certainly!!! Will they suffer for the rest of their life for what some call a mistake on the McCanns part (leaving kids alone)? Most Certainly but it doesnt send a good message to people if everyone in the world gets sympathy only because a tragic event occured because of neglect. Had nothing tragic happened in either case and social services showed up at either place whether it be Portugal or Pittsburgh you can guarentee they would have been removed from their parents custody.
EDIT....Their friends with them that had children should be to.
Reply:What will that achieve? I think they are wrong to have left the children -but they have already paid the highest price....they will do their 'time' for the rest of their lives.
Reply:It's time these child neglecters had their come-uppance!
Reply:Regardless of the outcome, the McCanns should never have left their children alone, and, if they hadn't, Madeleine would not have disappeared.
I do think its the right decision that the parents should be prosecuted for child neglect. Definitely.
Reply:yes they should be prosecuted and there twins should be placed in the hands of family not social service's the children done nothing wrong and do not deserve to be put with foster parents who they dont no ..
Reply:they should have been prosecuted immediately... if the parent had been a single mother on benefits they would have done so already... its only because they are doctors that people are pandering to them.
Reply:I don't know. I would hate to lose a child, but then again I struggle leaving my dog in the house never mind a baby for a minute or two. I just hope it is resolved. Whoever is responsible.
Reply:definately the right decision....and about time too
Reply:Absolutely the right decision. If they return to the UK I would expect the Social services to investigate their lifestyle here before they went to Portugal
Reply:I think they are going to be charged with a lot more than that, i think this is some detoy to keep them there, as there is alot more evidence coming to light now!
Reply:They were wrong to leave the kids alone, but they have been through enough without being prosecuted for it. I wish people would be less hasty to continue to punish the McCanns and lay the blame on the person(s) who actually took her!!
Yes, they were stupid to leave her unattended, but it is a sad state of affairs that you can't turn your back for a moment, it wasn't all that long ago that kids of that age were left for hours at a time while their parents worked, or were forced to do dangerous jobs themselves. What is really wrong here is that someone could be cruel enough to take a child from her bed, knowing full well that it was legally and morally wrong. Her parents are only guilty of naivety and perhaps stupidity, they underestimated the evil side of human nature and assumed that a sleeping child would be safe in her bed. I think they are punishing themselves enough for this decision.
Furthermore, there are much, much worse cases of child neglect going on that leaving a kid in bed alone for 1/2 hour or so... the authorities should concentrate on children who are currently at risk - I doubt if the McCanns will ever make the same mistake again.
Reply:Yes it is .. they should have never ever neglected their children and it is about time they meet the consequences for their selfish actions
Reply:you are right,yes yes
Reply:if it's true, its too little too late, hopefully its just a holding charge pending further enquiry's. it would help if the twins were made wards of court and taken away from their "care" as well
Reply:If they do then all the others in that group will face the same plus all the babysitters who go round every half hour checking children and have done for years, the case will involve hundreds so I think it is highly unlikely.
I have actually read they are going to frame gerry and it will work because the police are covering up something far worse, that is of course assuming he is innocent until proven guilty
Reply:I agree with Martini7. I couldn't leave a dog alone either. If you love your children you would never leave them at all cos they are too young and innocent to defend themselves.
Reply:Hasnt hit sky news or news 24 yet
Reply:here here
Reply:i could be totally wrong but my personal opinion is that the parents have had something to do with her disappearance. for me they were just far too calm and didn't seem very upset on telly for just having their 3..nearly 4 year old daughter abducted...not natural behaviour at all. i honestly hope they do find her alive and well, but only time will tell. and yes i do think that they should be prosecuted for leaving the kids alone. how fu***ng irresponsible to do that....oh they said they were checking on them every half an hour....woo hoo get the flags out for them. they are doctors for f**k sake with a holiday home... obviously rolling in it so why didn't they just buy a baby monitor to listen in on them if they weren't too far away. I'll get of my high horse now. fingers crossed the poor bairn turns up eh!
Reply:I have a great deal of sympathy for the parents and believe they have already payed the price of their stupidity but in order to set out 'the rules' they need to be charged with gross negligence.Everyone needs to know doing what they did is unacceptable and the rules must not be broken,we,ve seen the tragic consequences.Had they left their kids alone at home in Britain and dined nearby there would have been an uproar.Being on holiday excuses nothing.Wouldn't it be wonderful if they found Madeleine again though and all the other missing. It's a sad world we live in.
I feel this is the valid reason for bringing charges, yes,no?

There is nothing at all.
Not BBC, SKY, ITV
google .........nothing at all
where is your link?
Reply:GOOD WITH A CAPITAL G!
Why are they not reporting this on the national news?
JUST READ SOMEWHERE THAT THIS IS A HOAX..

Reply:To be honest, it pisses me off when I see people constantly critising these people. They've lost a child, so try being more considerate. I don't think anyone expects anyone to enter into the room next door and steal their child and I'm sure hundreds of parents have left their kids in a room next door, checking periodically. Ie the babysitter for example.
What are you supposed to do, have them sleep in your room until they are 18?
Instead of blaming the parents not looking after the kids it should be Why are there such evil people in the world that would do such a thing?
I hope she is found and they can live their lives again. Dead or alive, I hope they get some closure.
And to all the know alls and idiots on here, try imagining how you would feel and make sure you learn from it. This childish flaming really makes me angry. Use a different pair of eyes.
Reply:too bloody right it is
Reply:Yes it is the right decision as Gerry or Kate did not think they had done anything wrong and they so had.
Reply:Yes, they did the wrong thing but probably thought at the time that Portugal was a safe country. No, I don't think they should be prosecuted because it simply won't help to solve the important issue of finding Madeleine.
Reply:Did youi see the sky news interview yesterday where the journalist asked them if they had left the kids alone for more nights than on the 3rd May and Gerry replied "well we cant really comment on that as its under investigation". Or words to that effect....so youi may be right.
Reply:Haven't heard the news myself.
I totally agree with you on the fact they should never have left them alone not sure I entirely see the point of prosecuting them though - what can it achieve ? Please don't thumb me down for saying that, if anyone can come up with a valid reason then I will respond accordingly.
