I've just started learning the languages C, C++
what books do I follow?
Are there any specific authors whose books are easy to do for a beginner??
Can you pls let me know if the book is very costly or nominal?
C, C++ books... I'm a beginner... Pls help!?
For computer books, I swear by OReilly's book series and the Deitel book series.
Deitel is more expensive (50-70 per book new; don't know the used prices) but also has interactive walk throughs.

That book was written by the two people who created the C language. Most software gurus will know of it and have read it.

Reply:Purchase book Turbo C by Robert Lafore for C language and C++ by Robert Lafore is also a good book, but I think you should first learn C language b/c C++ is Object oriented Language. Both languages are easy.

C.C. Sabathia......question?
Is this guy having the worst luck or what? Three starts in a row where he goes 7 plus and lets up 2 runs or less. Tonight he is at 7 2/3 again the Tribe get him 1 run on 5 lousy hits. That makes 4 in a row! They have given this guy NO RUN SUPPORT. He should easily be 17-6 or better. His ERA is like 3.39! So here is the question: Of all the major league pitchers who have at least 14 decisions or more, who has gotten the least run support? Furthermore, what are your opinions of C.C. Sabathia? Thanks.

as a dedicated Tribe fan, I really like CC Sabathia. While it is a shame that he has recieved little to no run support he is not alone in this. Sometimes you also have to give credit to the opposing pitcher. They might be having a career game or a standout game on that particular night or it could be that the Indians just could not get the bats going. Like in football where they say anything can happen on any given Sunday, I believe that is also true in baseball. The year the Indians were mediocre and had a fraction of NY's payroll, they whaled on them 22-0 in the Bronx. Not a soul on this planet would have seen that one coming. I sincerely hope that CC remains an Indian; I heard he wants to stay but we have heard that from the likes of Thome and Ramirez. My favorite CC memory is seeing the Tribe play the Pirates at PNC and CC gets a hit - watching him lumber to first was something to see and then the hitters actually moved the runners and I think eventually CC came around to score. Big ol' CC - it looked like he could just mow down the opposition. I worry that he will generate an awful lot of interest as a free agent, possibly from some west coast teams and he is from California. Here is some interesting trivia: he was the first player of the A level Mahoning Valley Scrappers to make it to the parent club. I actually have a CC Scrappers bobble. Also - if you do not know, his full name is Carsten Charles Sabathia. Anyways, go Tribe! Detroit sucks. If you do not bleed red white and blue Wahoo, I got no time for you!

I mean, Santana's last 6 starts, he has only gotten 2.21 runs/game. How bad is that?
But really, you can't really blame C.C, or luck. If there's anyone to blame, it'd be 20% on C.C and 80% on his batters.
Why 20%? Well you have to remember that he IS the one giving up the runs.
And of course, what can a pitcher do when he doesn't get any run support?
C.C is just in bad time right now. But he'll come through, I'm sure of it.

Reply:He's had 5.85 runs/9-innings. That's 11th of the 20 AL pitchers with 1 IP per team game so far. Worst is the O's Jeremy Guthry with 5.03. Lacky's got only 5.07.
Sabathia's had a lot more support than those guys.
In the NL, Peavy (5.38) is 16th of 20. Zambrano (5.19) is worst.
Interesting that the worst in the AL are worse than the NL.

Of all of his losses and no decisions, he has given up an average of 2.3 runs and gotten 1.25 runs of support, and he is still the leading strikeout pitcher in the NL with a 2.21 (2nd in NL) ERA and has a 14-5 record. The worst example of all has to be his 16 strikeout perfromance that ended in him getting the ND. Imagine his record with Boston or NY offense. That is tough luck for you. Sabathia is a great young pitcher going through very similar problems. Wicked stuff but little run support. Don't worry though I see great things for him soon.

C&C Red Alert 1995 is screwing up?
I've got C%26amp;C (First Decade - includes 7 different games) installed on my laptop but every now and then the graphics mess up, it does this once in a while. Is there a patch I can get to fix this? I have an HP laptop 2004 with XP.
Also there's one particular level I play in Skirmish that causes my pc to freeze after about 20 minutes. It's the level Circles of Death, I think. And for some reason a random team of missile subs will appear in the ocean and shoot at everyone. They have no base at all. Is the level supposed to be like this or is my game screwed up?

First there is a patch for the game you have. Second on the level where all the submarines appear is not a system glitch. They do have a base but it is on an island that you may not have seen yet. That's a really hard level. I know because I've played it. See the link for the patch. hope that helps.

Command and Conquer 3 has been getting nothing but positive feedback, I dont understand it, the graphics are worse than its predecessor C%26amp;C generals which dates back to like 2002, but when I watch the high def trailers for the game, the graphics look pretty impressive, might this have anything to do with direct x, I dont have the latest version and I am unable to download it from the microsoft website because I can not verify that my software is authentic

The graphics are great...I think you need the latest directx or even a better graphics card. My brother bought the game yeasterday and it looks really good.

Edit: While I am not positive on this. I think there is a way to download the newest directx other then on microsoft. I mean come on if people can download almost everything on the net for free why not directx? Just look around and I am sure you will find a place to download it from...other then microsoft.

Where can I buy c+c cages?
I want to build a very long and wide c+c cage for my dwarf hamster. It needs to be low to the ground. I live in Canada and I don't know where to buy one. I was going to buy a huge cage but I thought this would be better.

Bed bath and beyond, target, etc, typically have grids and coroplast is sold at any sign shop. Don't tell them it is for a hamster because some will refuse to sell it to you, some won't.
